Determine the purpose of your web page.
Remember, some web pages are filled with wonderful animation, brilliant color, eye-catching graphics, but leave the visitor asking themselves the question "What is this page all about." Also, web pages with a full page graphics design will take longer to appear on the screen than a web page with several smaller graphic designs.

Present your information as briefly as possible.
Most times creating the first page of your web site should be as simple as possible giving the visitor a clear understanding of what you are selling (or conveying) and discuss the details of your site on subsequent linked pages. Many viewers will only spend a few seconds to determine if this web page is the correct site for their needs.

Finally, your topics on your web site should be well organized and easily located.
Once you have the attention of your reader, you should not let them wander in circles. Links and internal organization are roads to your information (products etc.). The simplest way to begin is with a brief outline of the information you are planning to provide. Your web designer can help you establish this flow of information and turn your web page into reality.
